The folks at Congdon Orchards represent four generations of Yakima Family. They gather still at “Congdon Castle” (they call it “West Home’), in spurts and flurries and manage their orchards as a family collective.
We first got to know them when they opened their home for a fundraiser for Children’s Village, and fanciful vintage cars brought patrons up the long driveway and we all felt part of a Gatsby novel. They have been a part of Memorial Follies and many of our outreach efforts. And now, for the third year, they offer their beautiful apples with proceeds coming back to the Children’s Fund.
How grateful we are that what they grow will serve to grow programs at Children’s Village and Memorial Hospital. Thank you Congdons!
