Saturday, July 14 – 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
“Cottage in the Meadow has been a community project from its inception”, asserted Dr. Tim Melhorn, chairman of the Hospice Steering Committee. “A community need for a hospice care facility was determined, a course was set to meet that need, and the community has responded with overwhelming generosity these past few years to build this home for hospice care. Multitudes have shared their time, talent, and resources to create a unique embracing environment for patients and families at the end of life”.
Cottage in the Meadow will be shown to the community during an open house on Saturday, July 14, 10am to 3pm. An opening ceremony will take place at 10:00 am, with tours of the Cottage throughout the day.
All friends, donors, churches, service clubs, and community organizations are urged to come and share in this exciting event. Verlynn Best, Yakima Chamber of Commerce President and CEO commented after a recent tour, “Cottage in the Meadow will be another wonderful resource for our community, as patients and families deal with difficult end of life issues.
I hope everyone will come visit this beautiful new facility and learn more about how hospice serves our community.” For more information or to make a contribution, contact The Memorial Foundation at (509) 576-5794 or go to memfound.org or yakimahospice.org.
