Sure, they can hit the bullseye from 30 yards in target practice – but can our local police officers shoot a 20-foot jumper from the baseline? And our brave Yakima firemen can douse a 30 foot wall of flames – but can they drown a 3-point shot? West Valley High School student, Austin Dean, has organized a basketball game between the Yakima Police Department and the Yakima Fire Department to answers those questions… and to also raise some money! As his senior project, The Game of Miracles is a fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® and will take place at West Valley High School, December 5. Admission to the game also includes a baked potato bar!
Proceeds from the event will benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® for Memorial’s Neonatal Intensive Care and Pediatric units, and programs at Children’s Village. To keep expenses at a minimum, Austin is hopeful to get food and drinks donated from local grocers . Tickets are $5 at the door. The event begins at 6 P.M.
