Cottage in the Meadow welcomed its first patient one year ago on September 7, 2012. Filled with the hope of providing our valley’s hospice patients with comfort, assurance and peace , we opened our doors and hearts serving 301 patients and growing. One patient’s family put into words beautifully what we have often heard by others: “No words can express what you have meant to this family. Because of you, mom passed away with comfort and dignity. Every hand that touched her at the Cottage was an amazing expression of love…You have blessed this family beyond earthly words. And so with humble hearts, we say thank you.”
The Cottage team made up of nurses, aides, social workers, volunteers, chaplains, physician, managers, pharmacist, cook, grounds keeping and housekeeping are passionate and proud of the care provided over the past year at Cottage in the Meadow. We are fortunate to have such a capable and caring staff. Being the only hospice facility in the area, we are immensely grateful that needs are being met at this level. Cottage in the Meadow along with those that support it are touching lives and making a difference in the Yakima Valley.
