Touching lives, right here in our community

Harvest season always brings new energy to the Valley. It is doubly so for me this month.  I have been with The Memorial Foundation for a year now and every day I am inspired by the continued passion, commitment and generosity of our community.

We remain committed to our mission to “advance and transform health care in Yakima,” throughout each of the healthcare initiatives:  Children’s Health, Cancer Care, Compass Care and Healthy Yakima. Our community tells us what it really needs and we connect people with the means to fill those needs.  You are making it happen!  We celebrate what we’ve accomplished together and honor our legacy and the patients and families we serve.

Each month, we send this newsletter to provide a glimpse of what your contributions are doing to change lives in our Valley.  Do you have a story to tell?  Let us hear from you!

Touching Lives

“Giving to hospice services is my way of caring for and touching lives in a meaningful way that is bigger than anything I could do alone.” —Julia Griffin, RN

Many employees of Memorial Family of Services echo Julia’s passion for our patients and programs.  They, and their families, are also members of the Yakima community, and every day they witness the benefits of our generous donors.  Community donations combine to enhance services and provide care that is not covered by medical insurance.  For patients experiencing a life-limiting diagnosis, your donation helps provide bathing assistance, companionship through trained volunteers, and personal guidance in facing a terminal illness.  Thank you for your generosity.
