Recently, questions have been asked about Memorial Hospital’s potential affiliation with several regional health care organizations and the possible impact on The Memorial Foundation. For example, “What does this mean for The Memorial Foundation?” By the very nature of its Articles of Incorporation, The Memorial Foundation will continue and will always be here.
A donor driven organization, The Memorial Foundation, as its own separate 501(c)3 non-profit organization, has its own Board of Trustees and balance sheet. The Foundation and Memorial Hospital are partners in service to our community. The Foundation has the ability and obligation to honor donor intent and keep assets within the community to honor those intentions in perpetuity.
Philanthropic support is critical to maintaining the diverse, quality patient experience at Memorial, as well as developing and sustaining new models of care in our community like Children’s Village and Cottage in the Meadow. Nothing will alter our current focus, deep community commitment, aligned with Memorial’s goals and community health improvement mission. Please call the Foundation at (509) 576-5794; we are happy to answer any questions you may have.
